The Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences hosted ~400 returning, new, and future Facility Users during the virtual User Meeting that was held August 10-12. Plenary addresses were given by: Yury Gogotsi (Drexel U.) and Susan Trolier-McKinstry (Pennsylvania State U.). The meeting offered opportunity to highlight research areas and exchange ideas – bringing together leading researchers, junior scientists, postdocs, and students discussing the following topics: (1) Next-Generation Quantum Materials; (2) Multimodal in situ Methods at the Materials Interface; (3) Research at the Bio/Nano Interface; (4) Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion; (5) Emerging Transdisciplinary Concepts in Practical Machine-Learning. Attendees also enjoyed viewing the virtual poster session, which consisted of 63 entries with a 5-minute prerecorded PowerPoint presentation of each entry. The posters were available for viewing the entire meeting and attendees were able to post questions to presenters. Two special panel discussions were added this year: Get it Published and Opportunities for Students and Early Career Professionals at the CNMS.
Full agenda with speaker bios and access to poster videos are available through the Whova app.
